Welcome to Atonement Christian Preschool!

Our preschool, founded in 1976, is sponsored by Atonement Lutheran Church.  Over the past 40 years, our program has expanded to seven classrooms that serve a variety of classes to children from ages 18 months to five years.

Our Mission:

Atonement Christian Preschool provides an early childhood educational opportunity that is loving and nurturing, as well as developmentally appropriate. We promote the spiritual, social-emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child to help him/her be successful in all aspects of his/her future.

Our Goals:

  • Spiritual: To convey an awareness of God’s love, and an appreciation of God’s world.
  • Social-Emotional: We encourage each child to grow as a unique individual while learning to interact among their peers.
  • Cognitive: We continually explore our environment to help every child understand their world.  Through various planned activities, we make discoveries in the areas of science, math, social studies, and language.
  • Language: Speech is focused on through books, music, finger plays, storytelling and puppetry.  Language and literacy begin through alphabet recognition, phonics and rhyming.  An alphabet “Letter of the Week” will help prepare children for kindergarten.
  • Gross Motor: We play games and participate in activities that include running, jumping, throwing, climbing, and balancing each day.  Developing the large muscles is a necessary step in refining the fine motor skills.
  • Fine Motor: Puzzles, games, beads, blocks, Legos, etc. are readily available during free play to give our children a chance to exercise their smaller muscles and improve their eye-hand coordination.

Creative art projects are worked on together to help form an interest and enhance all of these skills.
