God Time!

A community worshipping God together in an informal, family-friendly, hands-on setting.

God Time! worship

This vibrant worship experience was designed with the needs of families-on-the-go in mind and is growing into a stable community. God Time! is still new and evolving as we receive feedback from worshippers. We base our worship in the same four worship acts of traditional Lutheran worship: Gather, Word, Meal, Send – but we fill each of those pieces differently than you’d see in a traditional liturgy. All people, including children, are invited to participate fully in the worship - even in leading prayers and distributing communion. We use offering hearts so all people, including the youngest child and the struggling adult, know they have something to offer back to God and to the community by simply asking the question: "How will I pass on God’s love this week to someone else?"

God Time is

  • Family Friendly – we welcome families to "come as you are" by encouraging movement and active participation.  Instead of worrying about keeping quiet and still, God Time allows families to focus on worship.
  • 35 Minutes in length – 9:30-10:05 a.m. with the option to head straight into Christian Education classes during the school year.
  • Hands-on –God Time encourages active participation in worship through hands-on praying, offering, candle-lighting, and communion for all ages.
  • Informal – wear what makes you comfortable; eat your snacks and drink your coffee.  Nobody will stare at you if you're late.
  • Understandable – whether by using contemporary language, visual aides, or just taking the extra time to explain what things mean, God Time strives to make everything we say and do in worship understandable to all.

How can I get involved?

Just show up –– we meet Sundays at 9:15 a.m. for fellowship and coffee and 9:30 a.m. for worship in Atonement’s Lundin Fellowship Hall. We need your presence and engagement most of all.

If you’d like to get involved, speak with the Pastor that day (Pastor Julie or Pastor Greg) or God Time! Coordinator, Stephen Longenecker.  Or click HERE to send Stephen an e-mail.
