Women of Atonement

Women unite to worship, learn, and serve together.

Women of Atonement

This mighty group of women gathers monthly for devotion and business concerning Atonement and Women of the ELCA.  Primarily made up of retired women, they meet at 1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month during the school year for fellowship, a devotion out of the WELCA magazine Gather, and conducting any business (like planning brunches, trips, or service projects). They host one annual event, the WOA plant sale, to raise money for preschool scholarships.

Women of Atonement invite you to the Spring pot luck luncheon on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at noon in the privacy room. Luncheon is $15 if you are unable to bring something to share. There is a sign up sheet on a clipboard in the narthex.

The 1:00 p.m. Program speaker this year is our very own women of atonement president, Gail Dawson-White's study of military occupation during World War II in Paris France 1940-44.  The challenges of collaboration, resistance and belief were all put to a four-year test during the Nazi reign in France. Gail was a Junior Year Abroad student and French major during the 1960's. She has also presented this program at the Wyomissing Library and Oheb Shalom Temple. If you are not able to join us for lunch, you are certainly still welcome to come for the 1 o'clock program in the nave.
