Women of Atonement

Women unite to worship, learn, and serve together.

Women of Atonement

This mighty group of women gathers monthly for devotion and business concerning Atonement and Women of the ELCA.  Primarily made up of retired women, they meet at 1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month during the school year for fellowship, a devotion out of the WELCA magazine Gather, and conducting any business (like planning brunches, trips, or service projects). They host one annual event, The WOA Plant Sale, to raise money for preschool scholarships.

Women of Atonement Women of Atonement invite you to our luncheon in Room F.104, Saturday, September 16, at noon. We have invited Julia Coffin of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services to speak. Julia is a Program Specialist for Detention and Visitation for LIRS. She works out of Baltimore. Julia is most qualified to speak to us about the status of those seeking asylum status from their detention in the Berks Detention Center in Bern Township. We will learn about the rights of the Nigerian family WBMD has been helping, with other churches, to secure asylum status. Certainly this is a timely concern, because we know that there are more worldwide refugees now than any time since 1945. Luncheon is $10.00 and is catered by Jack and Susie Williams. You are certainly welcome to attend just the speaking event at 1:00 p.m. in the nave. There is a sign up sheet in the narthex. Sincerely. Gail Dawson-White
