Keeping the Promise

When you had your child baptized, you made a promise to raise your children in the Christian faith and life. At Atonement, we want to help you do that!

Keeping the Promise

When you had your child baptized, you made a promise to raise your children in the Christian faith and life. At Atonement, we want to help you do that!

As Lutherans, we believe that our faith, our relationship with God, is a gift freely given to us by God at our birth.  How we respond to and understand this gift is shaped by our ongoing connection to God’s Word.  While the gift of faith is freely given to us, the richness and expression of our faith depends on the kind of nourishment we receive.

Parents are the primary caregivers for their children and, in turn, their children’s faith.  What we as parents do, or don’t do, to nurture our children’s faith will influence our children’s relationship with God: how they know God’s love, how they live in God’s love, and how they share God’s love with others.  Atonement provides several programs to directly enrich or teach you to the spirituality of children from age 3 through Grade 6.

  • Advent Event and Christmas Pageant
  • Please Touch Nativity during Advent and Christmas
  • Children's Messages- when it's a "simple" Sunday, we have these at 11 a.m. worship
  • Faith5 - practice at home with these simple steps
  • Faith Milestones -
    • 3rd Graders Meet Your Bible
    • 2nd graders (and older) Holy Communion Classes
    • Baptism for any age
  • Spirit Singers and Alleluia Singers offer faith enrichment for children while equipping them to provide music leadership in worship
  • Vacation Bible School
  • Bear Creek Camp - Send your child this year to have a faith experience of a lifetime!  Need financial assistance?  Scholarship funds may be available - print this application and send into the church office!

Children are spiritual beings.

They are born with an ability to connect and relate to God our creator.  As children grow, their spirit needs nurturing to remain open to God's presence.  Nurture their spirits through Atonement as we all grow together!
